You might be wondering "What are these tangled pieces of colored paper that my child is bringing home?" Kindergarteners studied the work of  Wassily Kandinsky. We talked about his use of line and made sculptures inspired by his paintings. We met my friend Larry the Line. Larry can zig zag, curve, stand upright (vertical) or lay down (horizontal). We discussed the difference between 2D and 3D art and students were free to create their own compositions. I believe the process is often more important than product, the results aren't always beautiful but your child is learning valuable problem solving and creative thinking skills!
